How does the batch order / spreadsheet import work?
You can copy columns of price and quantity data directly from Google Sheets or Excel and paste them into the order table — the app parses each row automatically. Alternatively, the built-in Batch Order Generator lets you define a starting price, increment, and quantity to create dozens of precisely spaced ladder orders in seconds. Both methods work across any connected exchange.
What order types are supported?
The available order types depend on each exchange's API. Most exchanges support Market, Limit, Stop-Loss, Stop-Loss-Limit, and Stop-Market orders. Several also support Take-Profit, Trailing Stop, and OCO (One-Cancels-Other) orders. The app automatically shows only the order types your selected exchange supports.
Do I need to keep the app open for my orders to execute?
No. Once you submit orders, they are placed directly on the exchange's order book. Crypto Broker is a trading interface — your orders live on the exchange and will fill whether or not the app is running. You can close the app and come back later to check status.
What are conditional order rules?
Conditional order rules let you define automated follow-up actions that trigger when your open orders fill. Each rule has three parts: a Trigger (which specific orders to watch), an optional Condition (a price threshold that must be met at fill time), and an Action (a new order to place automatically). Rules run in the background via the macOS menu bar — you don't need to keep the main window open. You can create multiple rules, pause or resume them individually, and edit them at any time.
Do conditional order rules run when my computer is off?
No. Conditional rules are evaluated by the desktop app itself (checking your orders every 30 seconds), so the app — or its menu-bar tray — must be running on a powered-on computer. The upside of this design is that your automation logic and API keys never leave your machine. Regular orders are unaffected: they rest on the exchange and fill regardless.
Can I prepare orders in advance without sending them?
Yes — that's the Local Orders feature. Switch the Open Orders panel to Local mode and save orders on-device without touching any exchange. When you're ready, select the staged orders and press Deploy to submit them live. Local orders are stored (encrypted) on the device only and are not synced between devices.
Can I edit or cancel multiple open orders at once?
Yes. Select several orders and use Edit Selected to change prices and quantities in one window — either per order, or one value applied across the whole selection. Orders you leave untouched are not resubmitted. Cancelling also works in bulk across exchanges.
Can I split one order across several trading pairs?
Yes — the Split feature divides one order's quantity across up to 4 pairs of the same asset (for example, resting part of an ETH sell on ETH/USD and part on ETH/USDC to catch buyers in either book). Prices are converted to the equivalent value in each pair's quote currency, not copied blindly. The feature is currently marked BETA: verified on Kraken, with other exchanges still being validated.
How is my cost basis / P&L calculated?
The P&L view computes a moving-average cost basis from your actual trade history on each exchange, then shows unrealised performance against live prices — per asset and per exchange. If part of your position came from an external wallet transfer, you can manually override the quantity or average price for that exchange. Trade history is cached locally (encrypted) so syncs stay fast.
