QR Code Sync — Connect Mobile to Desktop
Re-entering all your API credentials on the mobile app is tedious. The QR Code Sync feature lets you transfer your exchange credentials from the desktop app to the mobile app in seconds over your local Wi-Fi network — no cloud, no server involved.
Both devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network. The sync uses an encrypted local TCP connection; your API keys never leave your network.
How the sync works
The desktop app starts a temporary local server and generates a one-time QR code. The QR code encodes the server's LAN IP address, port, and a session token. The mobile app scans the QR code, connects directly to the desktop over TCP, receives the AES-256-GCM encrypted credentials payload, decrypts it, and applies all exchange settings locally. The session expires automatically after 60 seconds.
Starting the sync on desktop
Open Settings on the desktop app.
Navigate to the Sync / Mobile section and click Show QR Code.
A QR code is displayed with a 60-second countdown timer. Keep this screen visible.
Scanning on your phone
Open the Crypto Broker mobile app and go to Settings.
Tap Connect to Desktop.
Point the camera at the QR code on the desktop screen. The app will detect it automatically.
The mobile app connects to the desktop, downloads the encrypted payload, and applies your exchange credentials. You will see a per-exchange progress bar as each exchange's orders are loaded.
Once the sync completes, all your configured exchanges are ready to use on your phone.
The QR code is valid for 60 seconds. If the timer expires before you scan, click Refresh on the desktop to generate a new one.
What gets synced
- All configured exchange API keys, secrets, and passphrases.
- Exchange region settings (OKX, Bybit).
- Which exchanges are enabled.
- Any locally saved order backups.
