Important Security Notes

  • Never enable withdrawal permissions — Crypto Broker only needs trading access.
  • Restrict your API key to your IP address whenever possible for additional security.
  • Your API keys are stored locally on your device using OS-level encryption — they are never sent to our servers.
  • If you suspect your API key has been compromised, delete it immediately on the exchange.

How to Create a Bitget API Key

Steps

  1. 1Log in to your Bitget account.
  2. 2Go to API Management under account settings.
  3. 3Click "Create API" and choose "System-generated API Key".
  4. 4Enter an API name/label (e.g., "Crypto Broker").
  5. 5Create a Passphrase — this is required and acts as an additional secret. Write it down carefully.
  6. 6Set the permissions as shown below.
  7. 7Optionally add your IP address to the whitelist.
  8. 8Complete the 2FA verification.
  9. 9Copy your API Key, Secret Key, and Passphrase.

Notes

  • The Passphrase is created by you (not auto-generated). Remember it — you will need it every time you connect.
  • API keys without IP restriction may have lower rate limits.
  • Bitget requires the passphrase for every authenticated API call.
