Important Security Notes

  • Never enable withdrawal permissions — Crypto Broker only needs trading access.
  • Restrict your API key to your IP address whenever possible for additional security.
  • Your API keys are stored locally on your device using OS-level encryption — they are never sent to our servers.
  • If you suspect your API key has been compromised, delete it immediately on the exchange.

How to Create a Bitstamp API Key

Steps

  1. 1Log in to your Bitstamp account.
  2. 2Navigate to Settings > Security > API Access.
  3. 3Click "New API key".
  4. 4Set the permissions as outlined below.
  5. 5Click "Generate key".
  6. 6Confirm via 2FA and/or email verification.
  7. 7Your API Key and Secret are displayed. Copy them immediately.
  8. 8Activate the API key by clicking the activation link sent to your email.

Notes

  • Bitstamp API keys require email activation before they become functional.
  • Each permission must be individually checked — there is no "trading" umbrella permission.
  • Keys are deactivated if not used for an extended period.
